Central West End

The Central West End is one of the most prominent neighborhoods in St. Louis and is home to a multitude of housing stock, locally owned shops, restaurants and boutiques and heavily serviced by public transportation.  Adjacent to Forest Park and Washington University Medical Center it is one of the most walkable neighborhoods in St. Louis.

Special Business Districts and Neighborhood Association

The southern portion of the Central West End has two special business districts. The Central West End South Special Business District and the Central West End Southeast Special Business District.  Special Business Districts are managed by a Mayor appointed Board of residents, business owners and renters and allow for the capture of sales taxes within these areas.  The funds collected are invested back into the area and help to finance initiatives to keep streets clear of trash, repair sidewalks, market the area, hold special events, install pedestrian lighting and hire additional police patrols.

The resident led West Pine Laclede Neighborhood Association meets the second Tuesday of each month.

Committees

Park Central Development manages two committees in the Central West End: the Central West End Midtown Development Committee and the Central West End Midtown Infrastructure Committee.
