Botanical Heights

Since 2004 Botanical Heights has seen the construction of over 150 new single family homes and townhomes. Residents appreciate the multi-cultural community and its close proximity to the Missouri Botanical Garden, Tower Grove Park, Cardinal Glennon Hospital, downtown St. Louis, Saint Louis University and Grand Center. The neighborhood has experienced a great deal of growth with the addition of new homes, apartments and the renovation of commercial buildings by UIC. Residents share their neighborhood with upscale restaurants, the corporate headquarters of a thriving IT firm, an advertising agency and many more locally owned businesses. The neighborhood is also convenient to bus lines, MetroLink and Interstate 44.

Location

Botanical Heights is bounded on the west by the east side of Vandeventer curving around to the eastern boundary of 39th Street, and south to Interstate 44 at Lafayette. Developed from 1880 to 1930 as a mixed use neighborhood, Botanical Heights continues to be home to large distributing and manufacturing businesses, along with small businesses. Neighborhood Organizations

Botanical Heights has an active neighborhood association that meets monthly, the fourth Monday of the month at 6:30pm at City Garden Montessori School, located at 1618 Tower Grove Avenue For more information and to get updates from the association, please visit the Botanical Heights Neighborhood Association Facebook page.

Our Efforts

PCD organizes an annual Opportunity Around the Corner job fair, which connects residents of Tiffany, Botancial Heights and Forest Park Southeast to jobs within walking distance of their neighborhoods. We further support residents through our Community Resource Counseling Program. We also completed a neighborhood needs assessment and action plan in 2017, which was completed in collaboration with community stakeholders. Following that plan, we continue to facilitate the Botanical Heights Neighborhood Association and neighborhood planning committee meetings.
